Course Overview
Medicaid is a critical lever for expanding access to infant and early childhood mental health services. This Lecture introduces strategies for using Medicaid policy to strengthen early childhood systems and improve service access for young children and families. Presenters review key components of Medicaid's Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) entitlement and describe how policy strategies can support IECMH goals. Through case examples, the presentation illustrates how stakeholders can identify opportunities for policy change and pursue a “Medicaid win” that expands services and supports for families.
