Course Overview
Young children experience grief and loss in ways that are often misunderstood or overlooked in early childhood systems. This Lecture introduces foundational concepts of grief and bereavement as they apply to infants and young children and examines the developmental and relational impact of early loss. Presenters review theories of grief and highlight culturally responsive and reflective approaches that support families navigating loss. The presentation includes practical strategies and therapeutic tools that help professionals provide sensitive, developmentally appropriate grief support for young children and their caregivers.
