Course Overview
Effective responses to suspected child maltreatment require coordinated partnerships between child welfare systems and multidisciplinary community providers. This Lecture explores approaches for strengthening collaboration between child protective services and community partners to support family-centered, relationship-based responses to child welfare concerns. Presenters review current child welfare data and examine models that promote stronger coordination, shared decision-making, and more holistic responses to family needs. The presentation highlights how cross-system partnerships can expand options for responding to reports of suspected maltreatment while keeping the best interests of the child and family at the center of decision-making.
