Course Overview

The holidays can bring joy and connection, but also disrupted routines, heightened expectations, and plenty of opportunities for families with young children to become overwhelmed.

Join your VME host, Katrina Macasaet, for candid stories from families and the professionals who support them. Together, you will explore how families navigate seasonal stress and what helps when emotions run high and relationships fall out of sync.

Come away with practical, relationship-based strategies you can use immediately to support regulation and repair, while helping families let go of the “perfect” holiday in favor of one that is connected, responsive, and good enough.

Members will adapt ideas from the event into a simple, practical resource they can use in conversations with families during high-stress seasons. Together, they will identify language that reduces pressure, supports regulation and repair, and honors each family’s traditions, circumstances, and priorities.   • Recognize at least two ways that seasonal stressors can influence young children’s regulation and parent-child interactions
  • Select a relationship-based response that supports regulation and repair while respecting each family’s traditions, circumstances, and priorities

Continuing Education (CEs and CEUs)

Continuing Education Units are awarded with live attendance, completed session evaluation, and a passing quiz score of 75% or greater.

This session will be hosted for one hour and includes a brief introduction, 45 mins of content based teaching, and 10 to 15 minutes of Q and A.
