Course Overview

For many professionals, experiences with data, evaluation, and measurement have not aligned with infant mental health principles. When approached thoughtfully, however, data can illuminate stories, deepen understanding, and strengthen systems that support young children and families. This Lecture shares Washington State’s mixed-methods evaluation of DC:0–5 implementation and explores how data can be collected, interpreted, and communicated in ways that align with infant and early childhood mental health values. Presenters describe how evaluation findings were used to understand implementation experiences, highlight lessons learned, and inform future system development while maintaining a relationship-based and reflective approach to data.

Presenters: Kimberly “Kiki” Fabian, MEd, James Bell Associates; Christine Cole, LICSW, IMHM-C®, Washington Health Care Authority; and Alex Busuito, PhD, ZERO TO THREE
