Course Overview
Many professionals working with infants, young children, and families enter the field with a strong commitment to equity and social change. Yet systemic barriers can create a gap between professional values and daily practice. Over time, this misalignment can contribute not only to burnout but also to moral injury. This Issue Intensive examines how moral injury affects professionals across the prenatal-to-five workforce and explores strategies to strengthen value-aligned relational practice. Participants learn practical tools designed to deepen attunement with caregivers while addressing systemic barriers that shape family experiences. The presentation introduces the Social Justice Parenting Playbook, communication strategies that support reflective conversations with caregivers, and approaches for integrating social and political analysis into relational work. These tools support professionals in strengthening partnerships with families while maintaining a focus on belonging, equity, and relational care.
